Our Quality Commitment

Cortex International develops professional grooming instruments with attention to materials, geometry, and finishing. Each instrument is intended to deliver reliable performance for daily professional use when handled, maintained, and stored according to the guidance on this page.

We stand behind the craftsmanship of our products. Specific warranty terms — including duration, coverage, and any conditions — are confirmed at the point of sale and may vary by product, region, and distributor. For the warranty terms applicable to a specific instrument, please request a quotation or contact us directly with the product SKU.

What This Covers

  • Manufacturing and material defects affecting the instrument's function.
  • Guidance on routine professional maintenance to support longevity.
  • Direction on where to obtain service or assessment for your tool.

This commitment does not cover damage resulting from misuse, neglect, unauthorised modification, improper sharpening, or wear from normal professional use.

Professional Care Routine

01

Clean After Every Use

Wipe blades and surfaces with a soft, lint-free cloth after each use to remove hair, moisture, and product residue. Use a manufacturer-approved cleaning solution where appropriate.

02

Disinfect Between Clients

Follow your local professional disinfection guidelines. Avoid prolonged immersion and harsh chemicals that may damage coatings or pivot assemblies.

03

Oil the Pivot Regularly

Apply a small amount of scissor oil to the pivot area and open/close the blades a few times to distribute. Wipe away excess oil to prevent residue build-up.

04

Store Safely

Store instruments in a dry, protected case or pouch. Avoid contact with other metal tools that could scratch or chip coated surfaces.

CeramicShield™ Surfaces

For instruments featuring CeramicShield™ hybrid ceramic coating, the smooth, non-stick surface supports easier cleaning and helps reduce residue build-up. CeramicShield™ does not sterilise tools and does not replace professional cleaning, disinfection, or routine maintenance. See the CeramicShield™ technology page for full surface-performance specifications.

Avoid

  • Dropping instruments onto hard surfaces
  • Cutting materials other than hair with grooming scissors
  • Using abrasive pads or aggressive solvents on coated surfaces
  • Leaving instruments wet or in humid environments for extended periods
  • Adjusting blade tension beyond the intended setting without professional service

Professional Servicing

Sharpening, tension adjustment, and repair of professional scissors should be carried out by a qualified service technician. Incorrect sharpening can permanently alter blade geometry and performance. If your instrument requires servicing, please contact us for guidance before proceeding.
